Consumer Protection
Consumer Law is a broad scope of the law. While the government has the responsibility to provide for adequate consumer protection, often-protective government oversight fails. Businesses are required to let you know detailed information about their products,
particularly in areas where safety or public health is an issue, such as food. Businesses also have a duty by the consumer law to ensure that their products or services do not harm consumers. Our Office vigorously represents consumers who have been harmed or financially damaged by unsafe or defective products. At The Law Office of Robert W. Bauer, P.A., we have the knowledge, eperience, and resources to help you.
Lemon laws:
Clients often find that vehicle they intended to purchase is actually the remains of a previous wreck, or an adjusted or rolled back odometer. Occasionally, a consumer will find themselves in a lease that is specifically designed to take advantage of an unsuspecting consumer. A number of "salvage" vehicles -- which have been declared a total loss -- are glued together and resold without disclosure to unknowing buyers. Significant mechanical problems with the car, bent frames, indications of body damage, unusually high repair bills, or tires wearing out early may indicate a consumer was sold a rebuilt wreck. Persistent mechanical problems could also indicate a "laundered lemon." These are vehicles which a previous owner returned to the manufacturer pursuant to a state lemon law. Our firm can research the title and find out if a consumer has purchased a lemon. Sale of a lemon may entitle you to sue for a refund, or a replacement vehicle.
